On Tuesday, South By Southwest announced the official digital release of 20 short albums recorded last week at the festival. The artists participating in the iTunes Live: SXSW series include Lost Highway artists Lucinda Williams and Hayes Carll, as well as indies Glasser, Dom, and Lia Ices.

The EPs have varying price tags. Glasser’s EP, which includes a cover of the British folk standard “Let No Man Steal Your Thyme” as well as songs like “Home” from 2010’s Mirrorage, is $3.99 for six tracks. Jessica Lea Mayfield’s EP, which includes 10 songs, is $9.99.

Unfortunately, information about exactly where and when the recordings were made is not available through iTunes or on SXSW’s site. Judging by the pristine sound quality of the recordings, Lia Ices’ and Jessica Lea Mayfield’s EPs appear to have been recorded at St. David’s Cathedral, where both artists played on Thursday night during the festival. Other recordings seem to have been laid to tape at SXSW’s other sanctified locale, the Central Presbyterian Church, where Glasser performed on Thursday night.

SXSW has also begun adding videos from the 2011 event to their YouTube channel, available at www.youtube.com/sxsw.
