Before Eric Church found his way to country music, he spent his childhood working with his father in an upholstery company. At the age of 13, he purchased his first guitar and started to explore songwriting. While sharing a love for music, he eventually ended up on stage covering Jimmy Buffett songs. But never losing his passion for music, Church grabbed the spotlight thanks to hit songs like “Two Pink Lines” and “Love Your Love the Most.” Looking back on his career in country music, Church recently discussed how proud he was of country music and what it represented.

Although country music went through numerous changes over the years, Church explained that the genre always took time to honor those who served in the military. With Veteran’s Day here, the country singer shared, “What I respect and admire is the sacrifice that those guys and girls go through for us to live the way they want to live too.”
As for country music, Church continued, “I just think that I’m proud for our format. I’m proud for the music, that’s something we stand by when not sure other ones do as much. I mean, not that they’re not patriotic, I just think that’s really something that we make a focal point. I’m proud to be involved in that. And again, I’m very thankful for the sacrifice that those… those guys endure, and it’s something that’s always been very important to me and always will be.”

Eric Church Has No Room For “BS”
Outside of praising country music and the armed forces, Church turned the spotlight on himself and shared some insight into his personality. Not one to mix words, the singer revealed he copied that personality from his dad. “My dad is a… I’m trying to find the right words to describe him. My dad is a great guy, honest guy, very call it like he sees it, which is where I get a lot of that.”
Having no room for what Church called “BS”, the singer promised, “I’m gonna tell you how I feel whether you like it or not. I’m that guy; I’m me…My dad’s that way, so I get a lot of that from him. There’s also honesty and integrity that my dad carries himself with, which I’ve always admired.”
