Eric Church Duets With Sheryl Crow at Hurricane Helene Benefit Concert, Reveals Plan To Build 100 Houses for His Home State

States like North Carolina continue to rebuild after Hurricane Helene ripped through the area just a few weeks ago. While crews work around the clock, the state announced that nearly 100 people were killed during the hurricane. Sadly, that number is expected to climb as relief efforts continue. Wanting to give back and help those in need, Eric Church teamed up with Luke Combs for the Concert for Carolina show. The benefit concert focused on raising money for those impacted by the hurricane. And while the concert featured numerous stars, fans received a special duet when Sheryl Crow took the stage for “Picture.”

Eric Church Looking To Rebuild North Carolina One Home At A Time

Although helping put the benefit concert together, Church hoped to do more than just perform on stage. The singer announced his plans for the project A Blueprint for the Blue Ridge. The plan looked to build 100 new homes for those who lost everything during the hurricane.

Discussing his goals for the program, Church explained, “Any time a community needs help, it’s always the community next door that comes running to help. And there are no communities next door. They’ve all been devastated. So we’ve made it our mission at Chief Cares that we’re going to be the community next door…” He continued, “We’re going to go and keep those people in their community, put a roof over their head, let ’em interact with their community, let ’em be a part of their community, and let ’em help rebuild the community.”

While Church aimed to build 100 homes, he also wanted to help rebuild the communities. “It goes way beyond 100 homes. I hope it’s a lot of homes. A lot more than 100 homes. I hope it’s about building the businesses and building the community back. That’s what we’re committing to at Chief Cares, and we would love your help.”
