The Postmarks are a Miami trio fronted by Tim Yehezkely, a female singer who barely breathes, let alone sings, the lyrics to these 12 covers that increase numerically from Jobim’s “One Note Samba” to Bowie’s “Five Years,” ending at Sesame Street’s “Pinball Number Count” at twelve. Cutesy concepts notwithstanding, these eclectic selections paint a dark watercolor world of drizzly soundscapes and shadowy retro noir that ranges from dramatic to narcoleptic. Some, such as the heavily rearranged Byrds and Marley tunes are unrecognizable next to the originals. Moody and cool.
