Two brothers, two guitars, two larger than life voices. When Colin and John-Angus MacDonald of Canada’s hit rock band The Trews stopped by our office, they previewed some songs off their brand new album, Hope & Ruin. They also played a cover of Elvis Costello’s “Next Time ‘Round,” which they whipped up on the spot, for good measure.

The Trews are no strangers to covers — they’ve tackled everything from “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” to “Bohemian Rhapsody” on stage. No wonder their own music is so good — they’ve got great taste in heroes.
