The website Ultimate Classic Rock just got finished compiling a list of the Top 100 Classic Rock Songs, ranking the hundred songs you’re most likely to hear ten times a day on classic rock radio. The caveat; they only picked one song per artist; which means you can’t have “Satisfaction” and “Brown Sugar” too.
It’s fun to peruse the list and see what songs and artists have become immortalized in history — Sammy Hagar, George Thorogood, The Marshall Tucker Band and Ram Jam should all be proud. But we’ll join the list of commenters and take umbrage at the site’s no. 1 pick — Aerosmith’s “Sweet Emotion.” It’s a great song and all, but “Dream On” easily laps it, in our humble, non-classic opinion. Plus, there a thousand songs that are arguably better.
What do you think of the no. 1 pick? What’s your vote for the best classic rock song? Let us know in the comments.
