Watch Bob Weir Perform On The Late Show

Videos by American Songwriter

Bob Weir stopped by The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Monday to deliver a performance of “Lay My Lily Down.”

Backed by a six-piece band that included producer Josh Kaufman, The Grateful Dead founder delivered the grim, rootsy ballad from his latest solo album Blue Mountain, which was co-written with Kaufman and Josh Ritter.

It’s been a busy 2016 for Weir. He headlined Bonnaroo with Dead & Company, received the Americana Lifetime Achievement Award, released Blue Mountain (his first album of original material in thirty years) and is currently wrapping up a solo tour.
