Watch Brett Dennen Perform “Crazy Love, Vol. II” Off Paul Simon’s Graceland

Videos by American Songwriter

Here’s a great clip of Cali-based singer-songwriter Brett Dennen performing “Crazy Love, Vol. II” off of Paul Simon’s Graceland. It’s the first in a series of exclusive covers from indie bands, as part of the album’s 25th anniversary celebration (the Gracelandbox set hits stores June 5).

The low-key video was shot during a backpacking trip that Dennen took in the Sierra Mountains.

Graceland is my all time favorite album,” Dennen tells American Songwriter. “You can probably hear it in my music. It came out when I was really young, my parents were big Paul Simon fans, and the album shaped my whole taste in music. I think ‘Crazy Love, Vol. II’ doesn’t get enough credit, because there’s so many hits on the album that get all the attention, but it is in no way, an album track. It’s one of Paul Simon’s best songs.”
