The Avett Brothers have been keeping themselves busy. This weekend, while The Carpenter dukes it out for Best Americana Album at the Grammy Awards, the boys will head to Michigan to start wrapping up the final leg of an American tour. After touring overseas for several weeks, they’ll return to the states in April to kick off their biggest summer tour to date, including stops at super-sized venues like the 20,000-capacity Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Today, though, the Avett Brothers are focusing on “February Seven,” the second single from The Carpenter. They recently headed back home to North Carolina, where they shot the song’s music video with director Danny Clinch. Looking for a place to set up their cameras, the group stumbled across Cline’s Country Antiques, a ramshackle collectibles shop where Seth and Scott Avett spent many a childhood afternoon. The result is a quirky, visually stunning video featuring many of the old-world items from the shop, including costumes, props and furniture.
“It brought out our inner ‘American Pickers,’” Bob Crawford jokes in this two-minute teaser, which American Songwriter is glad to premiere today… appropriately on February 7th.
