Tom Douglas was one of several to receive induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame Monday night. Over the course of his 20-year career, Douglas has written a number of hit songs, including Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me,” Tim McGraw’s “Southern Voice,” “Grown Men Don’t Cry” and “My Little Girl,” and Lady Antebellum’s “I Run To You.” Check out the video of Douglas’ honest, funny and touching acceptance speech about life as a songwriter below.
