The Beach Boys’s Brian Wilson has long been a subject of musical lore, and now he’s getting the biopic treatment. Announced four years ago, Love & Mercy is finally hitting theaters on June 5 of this year, with a first look at the film’s trailer made available this week. Directed by Bill Pohlad, the film follows a young Brian Wilson (played by Paul Dano) through his journey from aspirational musician to living legend. John Cusack plays Wilson as an adult.
The film also stars Elizabeth Banks as Wilson’s wife Melinda and Paul Giamatti as his therapist Dr. Eugene Landy. You can watch the trailer below.
