Austin, Texas has a reputation for housing the unconventional, so its popular On-Airstreaming certainly has a home. The web series features performances and interviews from up-and-coming musicians in an unusual setting – the intimate interior of an Airstream trailer. Prior artists include The Civil Wars, Shakey Graves, Augustana and a wide variety of others.

The latest installment of the series showcases Nashville-based Americana band The Wood Brothers, who perform a stomping rendition of “Shoofly Pie,” from their 2011 album Smoke Ring Halo. The tune’s harmonies are a confection as sweet as as its namesake, and features multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix drumming on a guitar Frankensteined with bits of percussion. The Brothers also perform “The Muse,” a single from their most recent album of the same name, and be sure to stick around for their cover of Michael Jackson’s “Pretty Young Thing” after the interview. The band is currently on tour in the US and will perform at the Fayetteville Roots Festival on August 28 and 29.
