At age 60, Benmont Tench released his solo debut album “You Should Be So Lucky,” produced by Glyn Johns, and featuring Ryan Adams, Ringo Starr, Gillian Welch, Don Was and Tom Petty. Tench recorded the album at a new studio called Subculture in New York City. Hear the interview online at acafe.com, and read the American Songwriter interview with Tench here.

A founding member of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers (and Mudcrutch before that), Tench has played on every Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers album. He has also played on a score of  albums for artists such as Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, Willie Nelson, and more.

Acoustic Café + SongCraft Presents had a full week in Austin at SXSW, hosting the Subway Sessions, where seven new songs were written by Elizabeth & The Catapult, A.J. Croce, Turin Brakes, Matt the Electrician, Blackie & the Rodeo Kings, Tim Easton and Butter The Children.

Additionally, the Subway Sessions team presented two showcases for SXSubway, and hosted a panel on Saturday discussing the week and the songwriting process, which included a Q&A with several aspirant songwriters. All of these songs can be heard in the next few weeks on the show. Many thanks to the sponsors SubwayFile Under Music and Taylor Guitars. #sxsubway

Tune in and stream the show each week at www.acafe.com, and connect on Facebook and Twitter.
