Weezer Announces Fall Tour Dates

Weezer has announced its first North American tour in three years, which will start Sept. 23 at the Tsongas Arena in Boston and wrap up Oct. 25 at the Gwinnett Arena in Atlanta, with 19 gigs in between at such big-time venues as New York’s Madison Square Garden (Sept. 24), Chicago’s Allstate Arena (Oct. 2), and Los Angeles’ Forum (Oct. 14)

Weezer has announced its first North American tour in three years, which will start Sept. 23 at the Tsongas Arena in Boston and wrap up Oct. 25 at the Gwinnett Arena in Atlanta, with 19 gigs in between at such big-time venues as New York’s Madison Square Garden (Sept. 24), Chicago’s Allstate Arena (Oct. 2), and Los Angeles’ Forum (Oct. 14) After a brief early-September stint in Japan, the quartet will be hitting the States in support of their third self-titled album (this one

is referred to as The Red Album) which, due largely to the success of its first single “Pork and Beans” a song that held the top spot on Billboard’s Modern Rock chart for 11 weeks-which sold 283,000 copies in the U.S. since its June debut at No. 4 on the charts. The tour will feature San Diego-based alt-rockers Angels and Airways and indie Toronto four-peicer Tokyo Police Club as opening acts. Prices and on-sale information have not been released yet, but Drummer Pat Wilson did announce that, “If you want to rock, you know where to find us!”
