For those of you who missed Michael Johnathon’s 500th episode of “WoodSong’s Old Time Radio Hour” on September 15th, Clearview Cinemas will now be bringing him the way of Garrison Keillor.

The folksinger, songwriter, environmentalist and published author has been broadcasting a grassroots concert every Monday evening from the Kentucky Theater in Lexington, Ky., where he heralds a variety of music and ideas comparable to The Grand Old Opry. Now the show, which broadcasts to over 2.2 million listeners, will be featured on the big screen at all Clearview Cinema Houses, prefaced by live performances from regional artists. The season debuting in cinemas features performances by Jakob Dylan, Blind Boys of Alabama, The Del McCoury Band, Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, John McCutcheon, the Sparrow Quartet, Kathy Mattea, Tim O’Brien, Marie Knight, Dar Williams, Over the Rhine and many more. WoodSongs humbly began as a small recording studio that could barely fit 18 people has developed into a multi-media, live audience broadcast that airs on 491 radio stations worldwide, XM Satellite Radio, online and on public television stations across the nation.

Michael Johnathon also expresses a deep appreciation for the world of Thoreau and has been recently touring in support of his latest release Walden: The Earth Song Collection. You can catch the film release of WoodSongs beginning Wednesday, October 22th at the following New York-area Clearview Cinemas and of course check out all the folk, bluegrass and songwriters at www.woodsongs.com.
