3 Anticipated Albums to Keep Your Ear Open for in 2025

Well everybody, 2024 has come and gone and 2025 is here and that means more new music. 2024 was quite the year for music and introduced some new faces and reminded us of some familiar ones as well. It seems 2025 is going to be a bit similar, as there is a ton of new music planned to be released that will showcase both old heads and fresh musicians praying for their big break.

There is no way to truly know what direction music will head in as the year proceeds. However, some of the impending album releases are teasing a few clues. That being so, these three albums have garnered a lot of anticipation and will hopefully live up to the hype when they grace the airwaves in 2025.

‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ by The Weekend

The Weekend is undeniably one of the premier pop culture figures of the 21st century. Thus, any project with his name attached to it receives an abundance of anticipation and praise. This is the exact case for his upcoming album, Hurry Up Tomorrow.

The Weekend’s sixth studio album is set to release on January 26, 2025, and features artists such as Cardi B and Anitta. Although, it wouldn’t surprise anyone if a few other names were to appear on there as well. The release of this album is the first album the musician has released in three years since his 2022 album, Dawn FM.

‘The Human Fear’ by Franz Ferdinand

What a blast to the past this album release will be, as Franz Ferdinand was an integral part of the early ‘2000s rock scene. Even though Ferdinand does have quite the nostalgic appeal, this album will seemingly be something entirely new and surprise all of their steadfast fans.

The Scottish band’s sixth studio album will be released on January 10, 2025, and features their new drummer, Audrey Tait. Tait replaced their previous drummer, Paul Thomson, in 2021. Who knows what the 11-track album will accomplish, but given that it’s coming from FF, people are raving about the potential result.

‘The Right Person Will Stay’ by Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey has taken some time off of music to focus on her personal life, and it shows, as she recently married alligator tour guide, Jeremy Dufrene this fall. However, the break is over, because Lana Del Rey will release her debut Americana/Country album in May of 2025.

Country music is arguably the most popular genre in pop culture at the moment. So, to see yet another musical giant step into it is a treat, to say the least. Not much is known about the album other than its genre and number of tracks. However, it seems everybody is up for the surprise, as we are all patiently waiting.
