The title of two-hit wonder does not discriminate, as every single genre in the music industry has had its fair share of them. That being so, country music is also dominant in this trend. It has seen a plethora of talent that has plateaued after one or two songs. However, some of the two-hit wonders seemingly had the talent to go all the way. For some reason, they could never do it after those two hits.

Some of the more notable country one-hit wonders are Billy-Ray Cyrus, David Lee Murphy, and several others. They seemingly never created music that was crafted to stand the test of time. However, these three musicians did it with two hits, but sadly came up short, as they have always been known as two-hit wonders.
Jessica Andrews
Jessica Andrews made her debut on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart back in 1999 with the hit song “I Will Be There For You”. It was a stunning debut, and Andrews went in to score two Top 20 hits. “Who I Am” topped the charts at no. 1 in 2000, and the follow-up song “There’s More To Me Than You” made it to no. 17 in 2002.
Sadly, after the 2000s started to wrap up, Andrews more or less disappeared. She was set to release an album in 2009, but after her later singles failed to chart well, the album was shelved.
Chad Brock
Before Chad Brock became a two-hit wonder in country music, he was a professional wrestler. Although, after an injury, Brock transitioned into the music industry and scored major success with his hit single, “Yes!.” Released in 2000, “Yes!,” peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks chart. He also scored a no. 3 hit in 1998 with “Ordinary Life”
Brock’s songs are quintessential ’90s pop-country tunes, but that seemingly didn’t garner enough attention from listeners. Even though the man had performance charisma, he still couldn’t create a sprawling career in the music business. Those two tracks were his only Top 10 hits in the US.
Rhett Akins
Yes, Rhett Akins is the father of the country music superstar, Thomas Rhett. So, in a way, he did have a career that lasted for more than a minute. Though, and regarding himself, Akins’ only No. 1 hit was his 1996 single, “Don’t Get Me Started.” That song peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The 1995 song “That Ain’t My Truck” peaked at no. 3 in the US. He never saw a Top 10 hit again.
Akins might not have gone the distance on his own, however, after his solo career petered out, he became an acclaimed songwriter. As a matter of fact, he’s an official member of the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and has written songs for Jon Pardi, Blake Shelton, and Luke Bryan.
