But I know whenever this gloriously psychedelic, upbeat song from 1967 comes on, I immediately think of the entire vibe, culture, and music leanings of the 1960s. Young and old listeners in 1967 definitely loved this one. “Happy Together” by The Turtles was a No. 1 hit on the Hot 100 and reached the Top 20 across the globe.
“All You Need Is Love” by The Beatles
The Beatles were a shoo-in for this list, and they made it to our compilation of songs from 1967 that teens blasted in their first car with an enduring classic. “All You Need Is Love” by The Beatles was released as a standalone single and was quickly turned into a massive, career-defining hit that year. Written by John Lennon, this psych-pop jam reached No. 1 almost across the board in countries like the US, UK, Canada, and elsewhere. Today, “All You Need Is Love” remains an anthem for flower power. And it’s still the kind of song that you just can’t skip.
