It seems like every year lately, we’ve been privy to yet another career comeback. We’re suckers for nostalgia and, with the added help of the eternal memory of the internet, countless legacy artists have been able to mount full-scale reunions. Below, find four country acts we’d like to see make a comeback next.

Taylor Swift
Thanks to the letter recently posted to Taylor Swift‘s website, we can now officially be excited about the re-release of her debut album. If what she says in the letter is true, all it’ll take is one word from the fans, and Swift will be heading back into the country throes.
Swift’s debut album was the epitome of pop country in the mid-’00s. Countless artists tried to recreate the magic of this record, largely to no avail. We would love to see Swift re-release her twangiest album this year, making a comeback and earning her rightful place on top of the country charts.
The Wreckers
The Wreckers aren’t the most well known country duo of all time, but they were beloved by fans in the early ’00s. Consisting of Michelle Branch and Jessica Harp, The Wreckers perfectly mixed alternative pop tones with a folk sensibility. They are what country music is missing right now.
The Wreckers staged a reunion in 2020, but it failed to get off the ground. Unfortunately, we have no new news of them rekindling their musical partnership. But we can always hold out hope.
Gretchen Wilson
We need the rough and tumble sounds of Gretchen Wilson to make a comeback. Country music desperately needs it. We have younger artists like Ella Langley and Lainey Wilson carrying on the banner, but there’s nothing like the real thing.
Wilson hasn’t made a new record in quite some time now. We think were overdue for a dose of nostalgia from the “Redneck Woman” herself.
Pistol Annies
Miranda Lambert has enough going on herself to really warrant a return of the Pistol Annies, but we wouldn’t turn our nose up at the chance to hear this trio’s dulcet harmonies again.
Country music could use some of the Pistol Annies’ irreverence and cheek. They always manage to come back around when we need them most, so we have no doubt there will be a reunion at some point. We’re looking forward to hearing more from these ladies when they decide the time is right.
