4 Musician Biopics We’d Like to See

1. Fleetwood Mac

Though Daisy Jones & The Six did wonders in keying the viewer into what it would be like to be in a rock band rife with in-fighting in the ’70s, it wasn’t expressly about Fleetwood Mac. We’d like to get into the specifics of Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours era with the help of a cinematic lens. Importantly, in between all the debates in this biopic, there would be moments of songwriting genius. The viewer would learn the backstories to some of their favorite songs. It seems like a well-rounded film that needs to be made sooner rather than later. If the fervor for Daisy Jones was any indicator, audiences go crazy for both period pieces and a drama-filled plot.

2. Frank Sinatra

The golden age of Hollywood, massive stars, sleek New York City streets, and potentially, organized crime…What more could you want out of a biopic? A Frank Sinatra biopic would hold all of these elements and more. Though Martin Scorsese once optioned a story on Sinatra’s life, it didn’t come to fruition. We’d like to see that rectified. It would take a wildly talented actor and singer to be able to take on the role, but we’re confident Scorsese could rustle someone up.

3. Marvin Gaye

Set to the backdrop of the ’70s in America, a Marvin Gaye biopic would be wonderfully caustic and inspiring. Gaye is known for some of the world’s most powerful protest songs. We can only imagine that telling the story behind them would be a coup for viewers. That, paired with the fact of Gaye’s untimely death, would make for a powerful story of a once-in-a-generation talent.

4. Britney Spears

Moving forward into the modern era, we have Britney Spears. Unarguably one of the most talked about artists of the last several decades, Spears recently released a memoir, The Woman in Me. The work sets the record straight on many aspects of the singer’s controversial and tragic career. From her early days as a beloved ingénue to the battle to end her conservatorship, there is much to delve into with a Spears biopic. There have been rumblings of a biopic like this in the works. We hope it makes it to production.
