While eventually joining Crumbsuckers, Marc Piovanetti spent years with the band Carnivore. Starting in the late 1980s, the musician had a turbulent relationship with the group as he left and rejoined the band a few times. His last time performing with Carnivore was back in 2022. But recently, Piovanetti made headlines for an entirely different reason when charged with sexually assaulting a missing New York City teenager who was staying at his home. And to make it even worse, the guitarist’s wife was also at the home when the abuse took place.

Thankfully, law enforcement and prosecutors jumped into action when the teenager went missing. According to a press release, “On Sunday, February 23, 2025, the New York City Police Department notified the Fort Lee Police Department about a missing child from New York City who was believed to be in the Fort Lee, NJ area. The Fort Lee Police Department located the child, who was between the ages of thirteen and sixteen, in the company of MARC PIOVANETTI and JENNIFER PIOVANETTI. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was notified, responded, and initiated a joint investigation with the Fort Lee Police Department.”
Marc Piovanetti Had A Long History With Underage Girls
Releasing details surrounding Piovanetti and his wife Jennifer, the musician lured the teenager into his home using a dating app revolving around music called TurnUp. Once getting the girl to his home, Piovanetti provided her with drugs like marijuana. The statement released by law enforcement added, “During the course of the investigation, detectives determined that JENNIFER PIOVANETTI was at home in the same residence at the time of the incident, and she was aware of the child’s presence, along with another child under the age of thirteen who was also there.”
Sexually assaulting the teenager for more than two days, investigators located the girl after she used the musician’s phone. Getting a ping on her location, police rushed to the area, able to get the girl to safety.
As for Piovanetti, he faced several counts of endangering a child and even sexual assault. His wife also faced charges of endangering the welfare of a child. Piovanetti found himself in trouble with the law before. In 2017, he received 10 years probation for raping a teenager under 15.
Already a registered sex offender, Piovanetti and his wife ended up in custody and await a time to appear in front of a judge.
