3 Beatles Songs That Didn’t Make the Cut (But Should Have)

Whether you love these deep cuts or hate them, we think that these three unreleased songs from The Beatles deserved the chance to be further refined and added to their famous albums. Let’s take a look at a few unreleased Beatles songs that didn’t make the cut, but should have! You may be unfamiliar with these deep cuts. Unless you’re a diehard Beatles fan, of course.

1. “Child Of Nature”

Upon hearing “Child Of Nature” for the first time, you might feel an odd sense of nostalgia. What does this song sound like? There’s a reason for that. You might notice some similarities between this track and John Lennon’s solo track, “Jealous Guy”.

“Child Of Nature” was written in 1968 during The Beatles’ famed trip to India. Sadly, there were a lot of arguments over which tracks would make it to the White Album, and Paul McCartney’s “Mother Nature’s Son” won over “Child Of Nature”. The demo was recorded at George Harrison’s spot in Esher, Surrey.

2. “Besame Mucho”

“Besame Mucho” is a classic Mexican tune, and not one you’d expect a few English guys to take on in their rock band. However, The Beatles did record this entry on our list of songs that didn’t make the cut, and there’s something endearing about it.

It’s a swaggy rendition from the band’s early days, and the demo of the cover is nothing if not delightfully fun to listen to for fans of the Fab Four. Like many unreleased Beatles songs, this track was recorded during The Beatles’ Decca audition and was later released on Anthology 1.

3. “Like Dreamers Do”

Out of all The Beatles songs that didn’t make the cut in their discography, “Like Dreamers Do” is surprising. While the song did eventually make it to Anthology 1 in 1995, the song itself had been sitting around for ages. In fact, it was one of the very first songs that was credited to Lennon-McCartney.

Written in 1959 by McCartney, “Like Dreamers Do” was performed and recorded during their unsuccessful 1962 audition for Decca Records. This would have been a great track to add to Please Please Me, in my opinion.
