Beloved Country Music Festival Ending After 34 Years

Back in 1992, the Oregon Jamboree country music festival was created to help boost the economy surrounding the town of Sweet Home. Wanting to support the economy of the area, the festival quickly became a staple of the community. And over the last three decades, the festival entertained thousands and welcomed some of the biggest names in country music to its stage, like Toby Keith and Keith Urban. But sadly, after 34 years, the festival will come to an end. Although thanking fans, organizers revealed why the Oregon Jamboree ended.

Not remotely putting the decision on the fans, the organizers shared a post on Facebook, reading, “Even with widespread community support and volunteers, the changing and increasing economic realities of running a music festival unfortunately no longer serve our mission to support rural economic development in the Willamette Valley.”

With the festival costing a great deal of money to produce, it apparently hurt the town more than it helped. Still, the Oregon Jamboree added their love for the volunteers and fans who helped create the festival for over three decades. “To our incredible volunteers, sponsors, community partners, artists, and staff, thank you for your dedication to this event and to our community for so many years. You are the ones who made the Oregon Jamboree special for three and a half decades, and you are the ones who will keep its memory alive for years to come.”

Speaking of fans, many jumped to the comments to share their memories of the Oregon Jamboree with one person writing, “WOW! I can’t believe it…out of all the years I think i missed 3. Am sad to see it go. You guys have done a great job over the years. It has become one of my family traditions with my kids and now their kids going. We will miss you! Thank you!”

The last year of the Oregon Jamboree will kick off on August 1st and run till the 3rd. And given it’s the final year, tickets are still available on the festival’s website. The prices range from $88 to $400.

While not a bad deal to attend the final Oregon Jamboree festival, the lineup consisted of Jordan Davis, Sawyer Brown, Jackson Dean, Joe Nichols, Bellamy Brothers, The Frontmen, Ashley Cooke, Ricochet, Kylie Morgan, Clark Hill, Joel Gibson Jr., Clay Walker, Shane Smith, and the Saints.
