Levi Hummon is revving his engine at the starting line with his new music video for his song “Bet On Me.”
Hummon shot the clip on a Middle Tennessee dirt track and is particularly excited because, years into his career, it feels like his first real music video.
“They legitimately got race cars and raced at the racetrack on Duck River, which was insane,” said Hummon, a Nashville native who is the son of hit songwriter Marcus Hummon.
Hummon recently signed with Jonas Group’s Red Van Records, but he was an independent artist for many years before that. He was used to shooting music videos on a shoestring budget. With his new label in place, he has the financial support to realize his creative vision fully.

In the video, created, directed and produced by Cole Barnhill, the race team even put his Levi Hummon logo with Barstool Sports on the car, which he called “one of the coolest things ever.”
The “Bet On Me” video follows the narrative of a losing racecar driver. His dad is the only one who bets on him. And when he finally wins, his dad wins big, too. Hummon’s father, Marcus Hummon, who wrote “Bless The Broken Road” for Rascal Flatts, was supposed to star in the video as the dad. However, the Hummon men couldn’t get their schedules to align.
Levi Hummon Calls Dad First
“I was like, ‘What the?’” the youngest Hummon quipped over being unable to book his dad for the shoot. He hired a man who looks like Coach Dan Campbell from The Lions for the video instead.
However, his dad is still the singer’s favorite counsel.
“The first person I sent music to is my dad,” Hummon said. “We just got these mixes back the other day, and I just sent everything over. And whether it’s a father-son thing or just I trust the guy, everything feels collaborative with him because he’s my filtration system for everything music.”
TikTok also seems to approve. The singer said “Bet On Me” has taken off on TikTok, which is a good sign. Overnight last week, the number of videos using the song grew by thousands.
“It seems like fans are starting to love that one,” he said. “But I love all the music, and we’ve been in the studio recording a lot of stuff, including three or four more songs coming very soon. I’m a warm cookies artist, so whatever’s fresh out of the oven is my favorite thing.”
The Hummon men currently have much to offer music fans. Marcus dropped his new single “I Never Saw a Moor” earlier this month and has a new EP inspired by Emily Dickinson called Songs For Emily that will be out November 15. Levi released his latest EP, Bet On Me, last month.
“My dad is so smart and has so much to offer this world, and this music that he’s putting out is so beautiful,” Hummon said.
While the eldest Hummon couldn’t make it to his son’s video shoot, he did co-write Levi’s new song “Make It Love” with his son and Andrew Dorff.
“Being a collaborator with your dad is one of the coolest things on Earth, I think,” Levi said.
