Legendary songwriter John Prine has announced the release of his first book, Beyond Words. Prine’s independent record label Oh Boy Records will publish the book, out April 18.

The book features background on Prine’s favorite songs, over 100 rare photographs and a number of personal stories. It even includes images of handwritten lyrics, which show readers Prine’s songwriting style and how his songs evolved throughout his process.
Dubbed the Mark Twain of American songwriting by Rolling Stone, Prine has become known as one of the most influential songwriters of his generation.
