Country star Miranda Lambert has a new studio album in the works, to be released in September, Billboard.com reports. Lambert is currently enjoying the success of her third top 20 country single, “More like Her,” from her 2007 sophmore album, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, which won Country Album of the Year at last years ACA Awards.
“What’s fun is the more success you have, the better the songs are that you’re pitched,” she tells the site. “The first record people pitch you songs, and sometimes they’re like the ones that Tim (McGraw) threw away and that kind of thing. But this time around it seems like I’m getting a lot of great songs up front.”
Lambert says it’s possible, but not definate, that boyfriend Blake Shelton will appear on the new album. Lambert co-wrote “Bareskin Rug” with Shelton on his 2008 disc, Startin’ Fires.
