Newport Folk Festival Lands Emmylou Harris, Elvis Costello, Gillian Welch

The 52nd annual Newport Folk Festival will be headlined by Emmylou Harris, Gillian Welch, The Decemberists, and an acoustic set by Elvis Costello. Other acts on the stacked bill include Middle Brother, Mavis Staples, The Felice Brothers, Amos Lee, Justin Townes Earle, The Civil Wars, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott and M. Ward.

On day one, Dar Williams, John Gorka, Ellis Paul and Liz Queler will perform in a special Song Circle. Jack White’s Third Man Records will bring their mobile record truck to the Festival, as they did for South By Southwest.

The Newport Folk Festival will be held in Newport, Rhode Island’s Fort Adams Park on July 30-July 31. Tickets go on sale March 31. Full details are available here.
