Parker McCollum Ends Show Early Amid Illness, Refunds All Concertgoers

Parker McCollum had to bring his latest show to an early end. The country singer was just a few songs into his concert in State College, Pennsylvania, on Jan. 25 when he told the crowd that the show was over.

“Penn State I apologize sincerely, I’m going to call the show,” he said. “I’ll give each and every single one of y’all your money back.”

“It is from the deepest part of my heart that I apologize for having to do this. I’ve never done this in all the years I’ve been singing country music,” McCollum added. “I apologize sincerely. I hope you guys will forgive us.”

He concluded his statement by telling the crowd, “We will come back and make it up. I will give every penny you spent tonight back to you. Thank you so much.”

After the show, McCollum took to X to express his apologies and explain why the show was cut short.

“State College, PA…I am sorry about tonight…was getting pretty sick before the show and tried to make it through. Sadly, I couldn’t make it happen,” he wrote. “Definitely not how we wanted the show to go, but we are going to make it up to you very soon. Details will be coming soon.”

The disappointing end came on just the third show of McCollum’s What Kinda Man tour. He’s next set to play in Kingston, Rhode Island on Jan. 30.

Parker McCollum’s 2025 Is Off to a Big Start

In addition to his tour, McCollum’s 2025 has been headlined by his performance at President Donald Trump’s inaugural ball. On Jan. 20, the singer took the stage to perform a cover of Toby Keith’s “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American).”

His performance went off without a hitch. The same can’t be said for fellow inaugural ball performer Billy Ray Cyrus, who had an onstage meltdown during his time on stage.

Earlier in the day, Carrie Underwood’s performance at Trump’s inauguration also made headlines. The singer had to resort to singing a cappella after a technical snafu stopped the music. Since then, Ariana Grande seemingly shaded Underwood’s performance, while Jason Aldean spoke out in support of the “Before He Cheats” singer.
