Although climbing the ranks in country music, Lainey Wilson made headlines on Wednesday not for her music but due to her relationship with Duck Hodges. Having dated the former NFL quarterback the last few years, it seemed that Wilson wanted to take the relationship to the next level, but she patiently waited for her boyfriend to make his move. And just yesterday, he did exactly that when he asked her to marry him. With fans thrilled about the engagement and celebrating a new chapter in Wilson’s life, some noticed the house behind the couple and the significance it held to the singer.

While posting a few pictures of the engagement, Wilson also shared a video of her showing off the engagement ring. Excited, Wilson walked over a monogram reading “GJ” in front of the steps. With many focused on the ring and celebration, the home isn’t just a random place—it happened to be the former home of George Jones.
For any fan of Wilson, they know the singer holds a special place in her heart for Jones. Besides admitting her parents loved playing music from the singer in their home, Wilson also paid tribute to the singer called “Keep Up With Jones.” She even discussed the country icon, insisting, “I feel like me and the Possum would’ve been great friends.”

Lainey Wilson Might Be Closer To George Jones
With Hodges picking the perfect place to ask Wilson to marry him, there might be more to the story than just love. A quick search revealed that the home happened to be for sale on Zillow. For the average buyer, the nearly $6 million price tag is a little much. But for a couple like Hodges and Wilson, it could be home.
Built in 1993, the home consisted of four bedrooms and eight bathrooms. That was just the start as the listing read, “In addition to a guest house, farm has multiple buildings combining for several thousand square feet that could be used for a variety of purposes such as shop work, hobbies, equipment storage, office space, event hosting and livestock accommodation.”
While nothing more than speculation for now, the idea of Wilson and Hodges starting a family inside the former home of Jones seemed like the perfect fit for the country star.
