“This Is the Conversation I Did Not Want To Have Tonight”: Kelsea Ballerini Forced to End Concert Early After Giving It Her All

No matter the genre or artist, there is nothing worse than a singer having to cancel a concert. Watching thousands of fans pack an arena just to tell them to turn around and go home has led many artists to perform while sick. And for Kelsea Ballerini, she thought she could power through her recent concert in Buffalo, but as the night went on, the hitmaker quickly learned she needed to get away from the spotlight.

Performing at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York, Ballerini hoped to connect with her fans with a spectacular show. And while the singer offered a lineup of hit songs, the fans never got to hear them as Ballerini suffered from the flu. Although performing five songs in her set, the singer eventually left the stage and a member of her team appeared, telling the crowd the concert was canceled for the evening.

With a video of the moment shared online, the team member said, “This is the conversation I did not want to have tonight. She just can’t finish, she is too sick, and we’ve given everything, we’ve tried to do it, and we unfortunately cannot finish the show tonight. I do not know much beyond that. We are going to look at options and you will be receiving emails. Beyond that, there is not much that I can say right now…”

While canceling the concert, the person promised that they would receive some sort of information about rescheduling.

Kelsea Ballerini Ready To Make It Up To Fans

Keeping their word, fans did receive an update about the future performance from Ballerini herself. Apologizing for needing to cancel, the singer said, “I am sicker than I’m trying to be, and I did not want to let anyone down tonight, and I just got through the first few songs and I couldn’t do it. And I am so sorry, but I never want to give you a half-ass show. We are rescheduling tonight, Buffalo, tomorrow, Pittsburgh, and the next day, Toronto, to the end of the tour…”

Now scheduled for April 11, Buffalo fans will still get the chance to see Ballerini on stage. And according to the singer, “I will make them the best shows I’ve ever played in my whole life, and I will pull out every stop for you, and I will make it so worth it. I’m going to go rest now, and get better, so I can really show up for the rest of this tour, and I hope you understand, and thank you for the grace to be human.”
