Video Premiere: Annie Stela, “Love Me Still”

Videos by American Songwriter

The Artist: L.A. singer-songwriter Annie Stela
The Video: “Love Me Still,” from her upcoming album Whiplash Blues, produced by Mike Mogis of Bright Eyes fame.
Fun Fact: Now independent, Stela was once signed to Capitol Records.
Songwriter Says: We filmed the video out in the California desert, in the middle of nowhere, as the sun was going down. To take a song like “Love Me Still,” which is about hope and love and put it in this gritty, post-apocalyptic setting felt unexpected to me. It brought the song to a place I wouldn’t have guessed it could go, and yet it still felt very true. It was hot and dusty and lonely out there, and it worked.
