Welcoming Megan Moroney aboard during last year’s Sun Goes Down Tour, Kenny Chesney formed a deep bond with the rising country star, 27. Wanting to express his gratitude, the “Anything But Mine” crooner, 57, gifted Moroney with a custom-built sauna at her home. Hoping to return the favor, the “Tennessee Orange” singer wrote a song especially for Chesney. And recently, they performed it live for the first time.

Megan Moroney Joins Kenny Chesney in Las Vegas
Kicking off the first-ever country music residency at the iconic Sphere in Las Vegas, Kenny Chesney had another first in mind when he brought out Megan Moroney during Wednesday’s (May 28) show.
The ACM Award-winning country artist first joined Chesney for a rendition of his 2016 song “All the Pretty Girls.” Next, the duo launched into the live debut of their new song “You Had to Be There,” released earlier this month.
Speaking to the crowd ahead of the performance, Moroney said she wrote the song for Chesney “as my final thank-you.”
“I thanked him a million times, but I wanted him to have something forever because the tour really meant a lot to me and how loudly you support me,” she said.
Chiming in, Chesney said he was “very, very honored and proud” to collaborate with Moroney once again.
“As far as I know, I have never had another human being write a song for me, and Megan did that,” the Country Music Hall of Famer said. “She came down to the Virgin Islands with her whole team and played it for me.”

“Scariest moment of my life,” interjected Moroney.
Continuing, Chesney said, “So I fell in love with it, we fell in love with her, and now we have a song out together… Here we go! This is the first time we’ve ever done it live, right here.”
“Magic in the Air Last Night”
Continuing to sing Megan Moroney’s praises, Kenny Chesney took to social media Thursday (May 29) to summarize the experience.
“It felt amazing to share the stage with her again,” wrote the six-time Grammy nominee. “Thank you Megan for being there. You lit up the room. Love you.”
In the comments, the “Am I Okay?” singer shared her own excitement. “MAGIC IN THE AIR LAST NIGHT,” wrote Moroney.
