Watch Our Interview With ALO At Bonnaroo

Videos by American Songwriter

Since releasing Sounds Like This, the band’s fourth studio album, ALO has been the main focus of its members. While that statement might sound downright obvious, when you consider the plethora of side projects that the members are involved in — including singer/keyboardist Zach Gill’s commitments as Jack Johnson’s keyboardist — it’s a welcome change for a band who, in recent years, has rarely toured out of its home state of California.

Capitalizing on the momentum, ALO played several sets at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival this year. When they weren’t rocking, the members enjoyed sets from everyone from Phish to Bon Iver.

Gill and guitarist Dan Lebowitz sat down with American Songwriter to talk about some of their favorite Bonnaroo memories, and being beat to the punch on a Zeppelin cover.
