Toby Keith died in February 2024 after a battle with stomach cancer. The Oklahoma native left behind a massive musical legacy. The number of tributes he received from his fellow country singers after his death speaks volumes about the respect he earned during his career. However, he was more than a star. He was also a dad to three children. Before he died, he was able to watch them all grow up and get married.

His youngest child and only son, Stelen Keith Covel, married his wife, Haley, in November 2021. The ceremony took place in Vegas and included the young business owner’s family and friends. Additionally, they hired wedding singer John Allred to perform during the special event. Recently, Allred took to social media to share a video of him singing John Denver’s “Take Me Home Country Roads” with Keith.
“Singing some ‘Country Roads’ with Toby Keith at his kid’s wedding,” Allred wrote in the post. “The perks of being a wedding singer. This was about a year before he passed. RIP. Incredible voice,” he added.
Toby Keith Helped Raise Three Successful Children
In 2010, Toby Keith spoke to People about his family. “Everybody in the family is good. I was raised by good parents, and I have great kids,” he told the publication. “They don’t have any issues at all–none. They all grew up with me being successful, but they are not hooked on that part of the business,” he added.
Keith’s wife had one daughter, Shelley Covel Rowland, when they tied the knot. The country singer adopted Rowland and helped raise her. She is more private than her siblings. As a result, less is known about her life. However, we know she is married and gave Keith and his wife their first grandchild.
Most fans are familiar with Krystal Keith, Toby and Tricia Lucus’ first biological child. She is the only one of his children to take his stage name as her surname. Her brother, Stelen, took his legal last name, Covel. She released her debut album, Whiskey & Lace, in 2013, following in her father’s footsteps. She currently has two children.
Keith’s youngest, Stelen Keith Covel, followed his older sister’s lead and graduated from the University of Oklahoma. He currently co-owns multiple businesses, including Hollywood Corners, Tequila Chulos, 405 Burger Bar, and Sellout Crowd.
