Waxahatchee keeps on proving that she knows how to deliver an emotional, vocally stunning live performance. Katie Crutchfield, better known by her project name Waxahatchee, hit the stage at The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday night to perform her new(ish) song “Much Ado About Nothing”. A full backing band accompanied her, featuring the vocal stylings of her twin sister Allison Crutchfield. You can watch the full performance below:

Waxahatchee’s recent performance of “Much Ado About Nothing” is both heartbreaking and emotional. you can really hear her dedication to the song in her powerful vocals. The song’s initial release was followed by “Mud” earlier this month.

Fans have been singing Waxahatchee’s praises following her Jimmy Fallon performance.
“Never forget the first time i saw her play alone on stage,” said one fan in the comments on YouTube. “So many guitars in this! Love that song.”
“The band is such a great fit to complement her rad beautiful voice,” said another.
“Much Ado About Nothing” was released back in October of 2024 as a single. The gorgeous indie folk-rock song was recently added to the Spotify listing of her 2024 album Tigers Blood. though, the original album release did not include “Much Ado About Nothing”. The whole of the alternative country album is stunning. Waxahatchee even nabbed her very first Grammy Award nomination for the album under Best Americana Album.
“Thank you to everyone who worked on this record with me,” Waxahatchee said in an Instagram post following the album’s release. “It’s been an honor, a pleasure & a privilege to collaborate with the cast of characters assembled to conjure this one into existence. My heart is full today. I hope you enjoy it.”
Waxahatchee has been pretty busy this year, too. She has a hefty list of tour dates lined up this year, starting with a March 14 performance in Spicewood, Texas at Willie Nelson’s Luck Ranch with Lucinda Williams. Her tour is expected to close out on September 19 in East Troy, Wisconsin at Alpine Valley Music Theatre with Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Sheryl Crow, and Madeline Edwards. Get tickets while you can!
