Selma, Alabama native Asher HaVon won season 25 of The Voice. In doing so, he made two major firsts for the show. Most importantly, he became the first openly LGBTQ+ contestant to win the competition. Additionally, he gave new coach Reba McEntire her first win. While walking away from the show as a champion was a big step in HaVon’s journey, it was far from his last. Since his time on The Voice, he has continued to make moves toward stardom.

Many of HaVon’s performances from The Voice are still online and available for fans to watch on-demand. Last month, his rendition of Toni Braxton’s “Unbreak My Heart” hit one million views. He celebrated the milestone on social media. “Your support means the world to me! Let’s keep shining together,” he wrote in the post, thanking his fans for giving him another major milestone. Collecting views and captivating fans on the internet is only the tip of the iceberg, though.

September Is a Big Month for Asher HaVon
This month has been a busy one for Asher HaVon. Last week, he shared a photo of himself wearing a set of headphones. The caption simply read “Studio work.” This could mean that he is planning to release more original music. So far, it appears that he has only shared two songs. He independently released his debut single “Free” in 2018. He released “The Nation’s Cry” two years later in 2020.
HaVon will step away from the studio and onto the stage later this month. He will headline Feels ATL at the Westside Cultural Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Feels ATL is an Atlanta-based monthly concert series that showcases R&B artists.
