Zach Bryan made headlines last month when he confirmed his split from Barstool Sports podcaster Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia. An emotional LaPaglia claimed she was “blindsided” by the “Heading South” hitmaker’s social media announcement. In support of his co-host, Barstool founder and CEO Dave Portnoy recently retaliated with a diss track about Bryan, complete with a music video. Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy veteran has focused on his music, releasing multiple new songs this past week. On Thursday (Nov. 7), he teased an tearjerker inspired by his late mother.

Zach Bryan Pays Tribute To Mom With New Song
Zach Bryan named his studio debut, DeAnn, after late mom Annette, who died in August 2016. Although she never got to see her son’s massive success, Bryan has kept his mother’s memory alive in his work. He is expected to release “High Road” sometime tonight.
“After not being home for a year and a half I drove out to my mothers gravestone in the dead of night a few days back on familiar Oklahoma roads,” Bryan wrote in a Thursday (Nov. 6) Instagram post. “And I came to realize just like in the past, that she never would call me again.”
The “Revival” singer shared a carousel of photos featuring himself and loved ones, including one sweet picture of him beaming alongside Annette while sporting his U.S. Navy uniform.
“Thank you guys for listening to ‘This Worlds a Giant’ last night and thank you to all the people who love me; who have truly carried the weight with me,” he concluded.
Why Is ZB Quitting Touring?
Zach Bryan has previously claimed that Quittin’ Time will be his touring swan song. His most recent Instagram post sheds some light on the reasoning for that.
The “Something in the Orange” singers shared that, while visiting his mother’s grave in Oklahoma, he told her about his plans to “quit touring because I got accepted to get my masters in Paris next year.”
Paris is a songwriter’s dream, so we’ll see what that means for future music. However, it seems that Zach Bryan is well and truly done touring for the foreseeable future.
