Neko Case and Kelly Hogan recently teamed up to take on fanboy culture and the “man-child” epidemic in their new song “These Aren’t the Droids.” The music video features Case sporting a Spock costume and Princess Lea wig opposite Hogan as Chewbacca while the two playfully mock a future entirely shaped by teenage boys. Case and Hogan eventually take over to deliver a manifesto on their own ideal future that would feature equal pay, lots of body hair, and guns that shoot out feelings. The video also stars Ellie Kemper (The Office, Bridesmaids) as the frustrated wife of a storm trooper.
The song is one of 28 tracks on the comedy-music benefit album, 2776: A Millenium of Asskickery, which will benefit international education foundation One Kid One World. Other artists featured on the album include Aimee Mann, Ashanti, Will Forte, Ed Helms, Margaret Cho, Andrew W.K., and many others.
