If there was a golden age for one-hit wonders, it was most assuredly the 1980s. The confluence of popular music, music collection, and strange songwriting made for a fertile environment for plenty of artists to write that single signature song that rose up the charts and lasted in the zeitgeist ever since.

As a result of all that work, there are many one-hit wonders from the era who are still banking on their chart success. So much so that they are still on tour, going around the globe playing shows for their most ardent fans. Indeed, these are three one-hit wonders from the 1980s who are still on tour.

Rosanne Cash

Daughter of iconic country star Johnny Cash, Roseanne Cash rose to popularity in the 1980s thanks to her 1981 hit single, “Seven Year Ache”. That track, which hit No. 22 on the vaunted Billboard Hot 100, helped to propel her to a long career in country music. Today, the singer is still beloved by audiences more than four decades later. And she is still hitting the road, including an upcoming summer tour that has stops in places like Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts, among others.

Soft Cell

The British-born new wave band Soft Cell reached big heights on the charts thanks to their 1981 single, “Tainted Love”, which was a cover of a 1964 Gloria Jones tune. Riding the wave of new wave in the decade, the group earned Platinum status for their debut LP, Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret. And today, the group is still wowing fans with their music, still on tour visiting places like Texas, Maryland, New Jersey, and Missouri.

Twisted Sister

Twisted Sister is emblematic of the 1980s. Rockers who were both rebellious and a little strange, the band gained fame for songs like “We’re Not Gonna Take It”, which hit No. 21 on the Billboard Hot 100. Thanks to that track, which seems constantly part of the pop culture discourse, whether it’s in politics or featured in TV commercials, the band continues to have large swaths of fans who check out Dee Snyder and company on the road in places like Germany.
