3 Tim McGraw Duets That He Didn’t Do With Wife and Collaborator, Faith Hill

Think of a Tim McGraw duet, and most people instantly think of songs he did with his wife, Faith Hill. But Hill isn’t the only duet partner McGraw has had over the years. These are three of his best duets, which he did with someone other than Hill.

“Highway Don’t Care” With Taylor Swift

In 2013, McGraw released “Highway Don’t Care” with Taylor Swift. On his Two Lanes of Freedom record, the song is written by Mark Irwin, Josh Kear, Brad Warren, and Brett Warren. McGraw is joined on the song by Taylor Swift, an artist he hand-picked to sing with him. Keith Urban also plays guitar on the track.

“It’s hard to say, but I don’t know how it could be any better,” McGraw says (via Taste of Country). “I knew I wanted Taylor from the very beginning, and Keith and I have been trying to find a way to work together for a long time. This was the perfect song for all of us.”

The video for “Highway Don’t Care” shows a young woman in a car crash caused by looking at her phone. McGraw stars as the physician who saves her life. Both Swift and Urban also appear in the video.

“Feel Like A Rock Star” With Kenny Chesney

McGraw joins Kenny Chesney on “Feel Like A Rock Star”, out in 2012. On Chesney’s Welcome To The Fishbowl project, Rodney Clawson and Chris Tompkins are the two writers of the song.

“Feel Like A Rock Star” says, “Now, whether you’re pimped up hangin’ in the VIP / Or way up high in the cheapest seats / Hey, pretty mama, if you roll with me / There’ll be diamonds in the sky and the radio screen / Whatever makes you feel like a rock star / Yeah, you can kick back chillin’ or you can rock hard.”

The same year “Feel Like A Rock Star” was released, McGraw and Chesney co-headlined their Brothers Of The Son Tour.

Album:Welcome to the Fishbowl [2012]

This was Chesney and McGraw’s second recorded duet, though their first to be released as a single. The duo previously collaborated on “I Can’t Go There,” a track from Chesney’s 2002 album, No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems.

“Diamond Rings And Old Barstools” With Catherine Dunn

On McGraw’s Sundown Heaven Town album, “Diamond Rings And Old Bar Stools” came out in 2015. McGraw didn’t sing the song with Hill, but he did keep it in the family. His cousin, Catherine Dunn, joins him on the sad song. Barry Dean, Luke Laird, and Jonathan Singleton are the song’s writers.

“Diamond Rings And Old Barstools” says, “It ain’t like midnight and cigarette smoke / It ain’t like watered down whiskey and coke / I guess some things just don’t mix like you hoped / Like me and you And diamond rings and old barstools.”
