In the mood for a playlist full of indie love songs to get you in your feels? These four songs are some of the best love songs to come out of the blanket indie genre in the last decade. And we think they’re worth revisiting.

It’s worth noting that this short list is far from exhaustive. The last 10 years have yielded quite a few incredible indie love songs. These four tracks are just a few of our favorites!
1. “In A Good Way” by Faye Webster
Faye Webster’s voice is beautifully suited for love songs. She has this sweet, almost sugary way of singing (and songwriting) that you don’t hear much anymore. “In A Good Way” showcases that unique voice with lyrics that any person who is young and in love could relate to.
2. “My Love Mine All Mine” by Mitski
Most indie love songs that were released in the last decade pale in comparison to “My Love Mine All Mine” by Mitski. And she’s no stranger to writing love songs that get really complicated. “Me And My Husband” is one example of a love song that explores the loss of identity that comes with being in a long-term relationship. To put it simply, no love song from Mitski is simple.
“My Love Mine All Mine” from The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We is a two-sided coin in the same respect. Mitski croons about being in love in this song while also contemplating the fact that love always comes with loss.
3. “Big Time” by Angel Olsen
Twee isn’t as big nowadays as it used to be, but this indie hit from Angel Olsen is as close to it as you’ll find in the 2020s. “Big Time” has excellent instrumentals and boasts one of Olsen’s best vocal performances. And the song itself is a lovely little vignette about the mundane, small moments of being in love that are just wonderful.
4. “Be Careful With Yourself” by Julia Jacklin
Indie love songs come and go, but Julia Jacklin’s brand of arresting indie love songs is forever. “Be Careful With Yourself” is just one of many incredible indie pop tracks from her, and songs like “Don’t Know How To Keep Loving You” and “Good Guy” could have made it to this list as well. However, “Be Careful With Yourself” and the whole of Pre-Pleasure is a soft, wholesome love story worth listening to.
