Bryan Adams (5)

While there were 11 artists to hit no. 1 in 1995, including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Seal, and Coolio, Bryan Adams was the only artist to be no. 1 for exactly five weeks. That was thanks to his hit single “Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman?” That track hit no. 1 for five consecutive weeks and lasted from June 3 through July 1.

Montell Jordan (7)

Two artists hit no. 1 in 1995 and stayed there for a total of seven weeks. Those were Montell Jordan and Madonna. Jordan’s single “This Is How We Do It” was a smash and can be heard on television commercials and other media still today. With his soulful voice and his propellant vibe, Jordan cemented his status as an all-time vocalist thanks to the party anthem.

Madonna (7)

Madonna enjoyed seven weeks at no. 1 thanks to her single “Take a Bow”. The pop star with the pin-up looks released the slow, heartfelt track and saw it go all the way to no. 1 in February. The track stayed at the top spot well into April. It may not exactly be one of Madonna’s signature songs, but the moment you put it on, you’ll remember it and feel it in your bones.

Boyz II Men (8)

Their reign on the Hot 100 may not have lasted as long as people like Mariah Carey. But at their peak, Boyz II Men were a force on the charts. The year began with them at no. 1 thanks to their song “On Bended Knee”. The year ended with Boyz II Men back on top thanks to their song with Carey herself, “One Sweet Day”. In total, the Boyz had five no. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

TLC (11)

Along with Jordan and Madonna, TLC also had a single that lasted for seven weeks at no. 1. That was the rap trio’s tune “Waterfalls”. But the group didn’t stop there. They also lasted several weeks at the top spot thanks to their sticky track “Creep”. TLC may be one of the most underrated groups ever. It’s as if they had two careers. One in the 90s with those songs, and a whole other one later thanks to tracks like “No Scrubs”.

Mariah Carey (13)

Mariah Carey is a Billboard chart darling. While The Beatles hold the record for most no. 1 singles on the Hot 100 with 20, Carey is right behind the former Mop Tops with 19. In 1995, she only bolstered her case. The longest running no. 1 song of 1995 was the glamorous pop artist’s “Fantasy”. That song held the pole position for eight weeks. She also saw the top spot thanks to “One Sweet Day”, which featured Boyz II Men. What can’t she do?
