Vince Gill and Amy Grant are both great singers and songwriters in their solo careers. However, the husband and wife duo really shines when the holiday season comes around. They have been holding holiday court at the Ryman for more than a decade with their Christmas residencies. More recently, they released When I Think of Christmas, their first joint holiday album.

Vince Gill and Amy Grant Are Among Many Artists Who Recorded “’Til the Season Comes ‘Round Again”

Vince Gill was the first to record “’Til the Season Comes ‘Round Again.” He included it on his 1993 album Let There Be Peace on Earth. Years later, Grant included it on her 1999 album A Christmas to Remember.

Little River Band, Lee Greenwood, Kenny Rogers, Reba McEntire, Ronnie Milsap, and many others have also put their stamps on the song over the years.

Randy Goodrum co-wrote the song with John Jarvis. Goodrum talked about it in a post on his website. “I Always wanted to write a Christmas/holiday song that would be recorded by several people and widely played during the holiday season,” he explained. “’Til the Season Comes ‘Round Again” granted that wish.

“We tried to write a premise that hadn’t been done before,” he recalled. “Most holiday songs anticipate the various aspects of the coming of Christmas, holiday events, etc. We decided to write about the last moment of the season. A celebration of all that just happened and a wish for goodwill ‘til the season comes around again,” Goodrum recalled.

“We were fortunate to have several artists record the song and one of my favorites is by Amy Grant,” Goodrum revealed. “The masterful and moving performance by Amy, the amazing production of Michael Omartian, and the perfect management by Ron Huff combine to make this gem of a recording. I’m honored to have been a part of the effort,” he added.
