The 6 Artists Who Scored 5 or More No. 1 Hits in the 2010s

By the time the 2010s hit, we had a whole new crop of chart-topping stars. Gone were the rockers and rappers so many of us were familiar with from the 1980s, 1990s and the early 2000s. Indeed, by the 2010s, it was an entirely new generation. That’s one of the great things about music: it’s always changing, growing and evolving.

Here below, we wanted to take a look at the six musical acts who each garnered five or more No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 during the decade.

Rihanna (9)

Rihanna has it all. From hit songs to a happy family to a billion dollars to globally recognized beauty, she sure has made a good life for herself. And in the 2010s, she cemented herself as a global icon thanks to her decade-leading nine No. 1 hits on the Billbaord Hot 100. Those songs include “Rude Boy,” “Love the Way You Lie,” “What’s My Name?” “Only Girl (In the World),” S&M,” “We Found Love,” “Diamonds,” “The Monster,” and “Work.”

Katy Perry (8)

Katy Perry is a pop star. But she also loves to play with that designation. She’s as likely to wear a giant Kleenex tissue box to an awards gala as she is a form-fitting designer dress. But all of that style and gravitas wouldn’t mean much if she didn’t have the hit songs to back it up. And in the 2010s, she garnered No. 1s with “California Gurls,” “Teenage Dream,” “Firework,” “E.T.,” “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.),” “Part of Me,” “Roar,” and “Dark Horse.”

Bruno Mars (7)

The modern day Platonic ideal of a song-and-dance man, Bruno Mars has the dulcet vocals to win the hearts of millions and the flying feet that can entertain the rest. And in the 2010s, he boasted a whopping seven No. 1 hit tracks on the Billboard Hot 100, including “Nothin’ on You,” “Just the Way You Are,” “Grenade,” “Locked Out of Heaven,” “When I Was Your Man,” “Uptown Funk,” and “That’s What I Like.”

Drake (6)

While the singer may not be as popular today as he’s been in the past thanks to the rap battle between him and Kendrick Lamar that left him the pronounced loser, Drake has certainly been a hit-song maker throughout his career. And in the 2010s, he added six more No. 1s to his catalog with tracks like “What’s My Name?” “Work,” “One Dance,” “God’s Plan,” “Nice for What,” and “In My Feelings.”

Justin Bieber (5)

Justin Bieber was discovered when he was a kid and he’s been in the public consciousness ever since. The Canadian-born, sweet-sounding pop star, who is still just 30 years old, garnered a handful of No. 1 hit songs in the 2010s, including “What Do You Mean?” “Sorry,” “Love Yourself,” “I’m the One,” and “Despacito.”

Taylor Swift (5)

Who could have guessed what would be in store just a few years later for Taylor Swift. While she was at the top of the charts five times in the 2010s, she would become the most-famous person in the world in the 2020s. But to set that up, she wrote No. 1 hits in the 2010s like “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” “Bad Blood,” and “Look What You Made Me Do.”
