Jelly Roll Thrilled Over Tennessee Board of Parole Recommending Him for Parole: “Change Is Truly Possible”

Before becoming the next big name in country music, Jelly Roll struggled to get his life in order. From an early age, the singer found himself in constant trouble with the law. When looking into his past, Jelly Roll was jailed over 40 times for an array of drug charges. Eventually starting his road to recovery, the rising star now holds several awards, a loving family, and the support of his wife Bunnie XO. But recently, Jelly Roll had another reason to celebrate when the Tennessee Board of Parole recommended the country singer be pardoned for his past violations.

On Tuesday, April 22nd, Jelly Roll watched as the board held his future in their hands. Given his past crimes, the singer was unable to travel internationally to perform in other countries. But that problem might vanish as the board came to the decision to put the singer up for a pardon. Thrilled over the decision, the singer said, “This was incredible. I pray this goes through. But today was special for me, regardless.”

Getting a chance to speak to the board, Jelly Roll explained how he wanted to use his past to help those struggling with drugs and addiction. “I want to be an inspiration for people who are now where I used to be — to let them know that change is truly possible. One of the reasons I’m asking for your recommendation … is because I’m looking to take my message of redemption … [across] the rest of the world.”

Fans Call For Jelly Roll To Be Pardoned

Just last year, Jelly Roll performed for the first time internationally when he traveled to Canada. Although loving the concert, he revealed the troubles he faced when trying to book a venue with his prior felonies.

With Jelly Roll one step closer to erasing his past, fans continuously praised the singer for his ongoing efforts to change. “Redemption…that’s what it’s about! Jason has worked so hard to overcome his demons. He deserves this!” Another comment included, “After watching several interviews and researching @JellyRoll615 past, if there has ever been a person that deserves a full pardon it’s him.  Being a retired lawman I don’t say this often, but in this case Jelly Roll does.  @GovBillLee please give him a full pardon he deserves it!!”

Not approved just yet, the pardon will now land in front of Governor Bill Lee to make the final decision about Jelly Roll’s past and future.
