On Tuesday, May 20, country music star Jamey Johnson married Brittney Eakins in Franklin, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville. Prior to their marriage, Johnson and Eakins started dating years ago and had a long-distance relationship for four years. However, in March of 2023, Johnson proposed to Eakins in Jackson, Mississippi, while she was working for Attorney General Lynn Fitch.

The couple first met in 2019, and upon their first interaction, Johnson suggested that the two just get married right away. Eakins recalled Johnson saying, “‘How about we skip the dating? Let’s go ahead and get married and have some kids and we’ll talk about a date after that,’” per People. Concerning Johnson’s ambitious ask, Eakins added, “I couldn’t tell if he was kidding or not. He didn’t laugh. He looked at me and said, ‘You have no idea how long I have been looking for you.’”
So, after five years in the making, Jamey Johnson and Brittney Eakins finally tied the knot. The ceremony took place at the Graystone Quarry, which is incredibly full circle given that one of Johnson’s first jobs after coming to Nashville was working in a quarry.
An Old-Fashioned Tennessee Wedding
Jayme Johnson is a simple guy, so you better bet his wedding was simple and tasteful as well. Regarding the cowboy black tie style of the wedding, Johnson stated, “It was a way to tell all of my friends who can’t be told what to do or when to do it, ‘This is an idea of what you could wear. Put on the stuff you wear when you want to wear something nice.’”
The other good ole’ Tennessee aspect of this wedding was the country stars in attendance. The guest list featured friends and musicians such as Zac Brown, ERNEST, Marcus King, Ella Langley, Lukas Nelson, Kid Rock, Randy Travis, Luke Grimes, Oliver Anthony, Dean Dillon, and Lee Brice. Matter of fact, ERNEST actually put on a special performance for his friends, the newlyweds, Jamey Johnson, and Brittney Eakins.
The night seemed like a grand time for Johnson, Eakins, and everyone else in attendance. Congratulations to the happy couple, and hopefully, Johnson will write a few songs about the experience. He seems like a sentimentalist, so, he surely will.
