Harris, who is the only artist to perform at every edition of the festival, also will take part in the October 2 show. Emmylou will be joined by various musical friends and collaborators, including current and former members of her touring band.
The lineup features Rosanne Cash, Margo Price, Steve Earle, Patty Griffin, Rodney Crowell, Shawn Colvin, Sam Bush, Allison Russell, Albert Lee, Glen D. Hardin, and more. Buddy Miller will serve as the show’s musical director, backed by a house band dubbed The Red Hot Dirt Ramblers.
Tickets for the “A Tribute to Emmylou Harris & 25 Years of Hardly Strictly Bluegrass” concert are on sale now.
The show will take place on the eve of the 2025 festival. Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, which always is held in Golden Gate Park, runs from October 3 to October 5 this year.
All proceeds from the tribute show will benefit Bonaparte’s Retreat, a dog-rescue charity Harris founded in 2004. The organization focuses on neglected and forgotten canines, including dogs that are older, large, or in need of medical care or surgery. The charity’s mission is to love and care for the animals while hopefully finding homes for them. For more information about the charity, or to make a donation, visit BonapartesRetreat.org.
