Although building a successful solo career in country music, Dierks Bentley decided to share the spotlight when he formed the band Hot Country Knights. While honoring the 90s country music, Hot Country Knights also poked fun at the era. And besides embracing the persona of Douglas “Doug” Douglason, Bentley recently took the stage with Zach Top to perform alongside none other than Post Malone.

Already a top name in the music industry, 2024 marked a significant shift in Malone’s career. Releasing his debut country album, F-1 Trillion, the singer watched as country music embraced him. Loving his time in the genre and in Nashville, Malone kicked off his Big A** Stadium tour, which featured Jelly Roll. But when fans packed into the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre, none could imagine watching Top, Malone, and Bentley celebrate the 90s with John Michael Montgomery’s “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident).”
The Main Reason To Never Leave A Dierks Bentley Concert Early
Like any good country song, “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” surrounded a man struggling to find love. But when taking part in an auction at a county fair, the narrator decided to put his heart up for sale to a special woman. When the song first hit the airwaves, it quickly climbed to the top of the charts in both the United States and Canada.
Just one of Montgomery’s numerous hits, Top, Bentley, and Malone gained high marks for their throwback performance. Comments read, “This is not Dierks. Girl, that is the Hot Country Knights. This is awesome.” Another person added, “These two together on tour would be the concert of the summer.”
For those who happened to snag a ticket to an upcoming concert from Bentley, one fan urged them to not leave early, even if it means beating traffic. “This is why you never leave a Dierks show early.”
Looking ahead to his future shows, Bentley had little time to relax as August featured over a dozen shows in North Carolina, New Jersey, Georgia, Alabama, and several other states. And remember, while there to see Bentley, you might get a little more than you paid for thanks to the Hot Country Knights.
