1. “Pistol Packin’ Mama” by The Andrews Sisters

Let’s go way, way back to the 1940s for this one. The Andrews Sisters were a really big deal back then, and they were known for their incredible ability to harmonize. They were definitely country stars, but they added a touch of blues to their music that made them stand out. They hit the US charts many times through the years with songs like “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy” and “I Can Dream, Can’t I?”.

Some might not consider The Andrews Sisters to be one-hit wonders. However, “Pistol Packin’ Mama” from 1943 was their only hit to actually top the country chart, so we’ll go ahead and include them here. Bing Crosby’s work on the song likely contributed to its fame.

2. “Are You On The Road To Lovin’ Me Again” by Debby Boone

Debby Boone was once a pop star, considering she hit no. 1 on the pop charts with “You Light Up My Life”. However, she would be considered a one-hit wonder of country music with the song “Are You On The Road To Lovin’ Me Again”. That country-leaning song made it to no. 1 in 1980, and it was her only country song to make it to no. 1 on the US Country chart.

3. “Come Live With Me” by Roy Clark

This country star is best known as the host of Hee Haw. Outside of being one of the most recognizable figures on country variety television, he was also a very talented musician. Plenty of his songs made it to the Top 10 on the US Country chart in the 1970s, but “Come Live With Me” from 1973 was the only one to make it to no. 1.

4. “Achy Breaky Heart” by Billy Ray Cyrus

Love it or hate it, “Achy Breaky Heart” by Billy Ray Cyrus is one of the most famous one-hit wonders in country music history. This 1991 hit even brought back line dancing as a trend. That’s a pretty big deal!

Billy Ray Cyrus had a few other songs that ranked high on the US Country chart. However, “Achy Breaky Heart” was the only one to make it to no. 1 on that chart. It was also his only Top 40 song to make it to the Hot 100 chart.
