ARTIST: Chelsey Scott

SONG: “The Faithful” (So Close)

BIRTHDATE: May, 7

HOMETOWN: Louisville KY

CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, TN

AMBITIONS: Health and Rest in myself and others has become a focus of mine lately, recently just marring a former organic farmer, it made me think about what we put into our bodies and how we care for ourselves, especially as a “creative” where there is some idea floating that being unhealthy in life can lead to more creative work then taking good care of yourself.

TURN-OFFS: Being unable to recognize your own weaknesses

TURN-ONS: Folks that tune into others’ personalities and can engage with others no matter how different they are.. the “welcomers” of the world.

DREAM GIG: Hm, I’d have to chew on that for a while…

FAVORITE LYRIC: Gosh I’m petty constantly in love with  some of the original female Jazz vocalists and writers. I don’t have a particular song or lyric at the moment, I think i get fixated on “time-periods” in music…

CRAZIEST PERSON I KNOW: I have a good friend who sees visions… (Once seeing an American Indian running on the side of our car while driving through isolated New Mexico in the middle of the night… ) her personality goes along with this trait she’s rather different, an amazing person…

SONG I WISH I WROTE: Probably Joni Mitchell- Both Sides Now

5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: (historical/ for my own personal intellect advancement)Einstein, (sentiment) both my grandmothers, (current) Conan , Anthony Bourdain.

MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: I saw sigur ros play on Valentines Day here in Nashville five or so years back at the Ryman, it’s not my “favorite show ever”, that’s a pretty hefty tag to put on a show for me, but it is the one that jumped in my mind. They were just transfixing that night, half the room was mesmerized (the other half was asleep, because it was so calming.) It was a beautiful show. Another favorite was a simple show at the Belcourt 5 or so years back as well, with Mark Kozelek, just him and his guitar, he was playing mostly sun kil moon songs at the time.

I WROTE THIS SONG: During a season of a lot of friends bouts with infidelity. It’s also a pretty straight-forward song on faith. The environment at that season caused my heart to be anxious. This song is a simple reflection of what calmed me and helped me to trust other humans.
